The pictorialist nature of my Fine Art portraiture nods at the dramatic and three dimensional lighting technique developed by the early Renaissance masters known as “chiaroscuro”, in concert with color and compositions that hint at minimalism. This style is best used in my work involving dark imagery and ideas, and it’s brought to life though both digital and analog mediums. It’s usually the uncomfortability and relatability that bring the viewer into a state of wonder.
My deepest desire as an artist is to bring people to create their own understanding of my work. These understandings are unique and can be relative to their own past. However, these thoughts are plastic and can be molded and altered. The ideas that I portray are simply a foothold to creative thinking, in which the possibilities are endless.
